    • This presentation recalibrates attendees and introduces them to ways that realign their expectations and apprehension to change. This presentation is known for getting people comfortably uncomfortable, in a fun and dynamic way. If your organization needs to evolve, innovate and grow, step outside of your comfort zone where the magic happens, and watch shift begin to happen right in front of your eyes!

10:30 am to 10:45 am: Break, Au pied du rocher

10:45 am to 12:15 pm: Dying Well par Home Hospice Association

    • Death is a natural part of life and something none of us are able to avoid. Yet, generationally, our grandparents and parents tried to shield us from our dying and our recently dead. Taking people out of their home to die and the movement to direct cremation and memorialization services, while often chosen for financial reasons, has served to support the avoidance. As a result, we now have an entire population who have never seen a dead body or truly embraced what dying looks like. As professionals, we have a unique opportunity to help our communities we serve, see death as what it is; a natural part of life that need not be feared or avoided. As an industry, there are ways we can partner with this movement and ensure the best death experience for all involved.

12:15 pm to 1:15 pm: Lunch, Au pied du rocher

1:15 pm to 2:45 pm: Unveiling of DISTINCTION THANATOLOGIE BORÉAL

    • Carey Smith, Registrar, Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) will speak to the BAO’s requirements of Continuing Education

      • Unveiling of Continuing Education options
      • Unveiling of the first SynDaver Mortuary Model in Canada
      • Tour of the School of Health Sciences simulation apartment
      • Learning via simulation

2:45 pm to 3:00 pm: Break, Au pied du rocher

3:00 pm to 4:30 pm: The Forgotten Responders par Home Hospice Association

    • PTSD among Emergency Response is well documented and we have made great strides to support those in field suffering as a result of some of the horrific experiences they are witness to. Little attention, however, has been given to the stress of those who continue the journey with the victim and their loved ones; The “Forgotten Responders”.
    • For this session, we have drawn together a panel of professionals who are ready to openly and honestly talk about stress on the job and how that stress has affected their personal lives. You will hear examples of some great coping strategies and some not so great coping strategies; presented with the goal of helping participants learn and become aware of signs of burnout and potential PTSD.

4:30 pm to 5:30 pm: Cocktail, Au pied du rocher

5:30 pm to 8:00 pm: Banquet – Awards and certificates ceremony

For the third consecutive year, Collège Boréal is hosting its community volleyball tournament in support of its students. The event will take place on July 19, 2019 at 6 p.m. at 7515 Forest Glade Drive (Windsor campus).

Create a team of six and join us in a festive sporting competition for a good cause.

Funds collected will contribute to the bursary fund benefiting students of Collège Boréal. More registrations equate to more bursaries which in turn allows us to recognize the efforts of our graduates. Your team is required to identify a value that represents your organization, which will then be used to identify the recipient of your bursary. Your organization will be invited to present the bursary at the convocation ceremony in 2020.

Cost of registration: $300 per team (6 players), of which $250 is allocated to our bursary fund.

Please note that this event is for players aged 19 and over.

Registration fees include a meal voucher for each player. Food and beverage (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase with cash only.
